Visit the Garvey Ranch Observatory in Garvey Ranch Park. It is operated by the Los Angeles Astronomical Society and includes a telescope construction workshop, a historical museum and a library. The observatory houses an 8-inch (200 mm) refractor, and the grounds are open to the public for astronomical observation at certain times.
